Ronu Adventure HooksBrainSucker HuntingAn Urnian trader (selling weapons to the locals) wants to transport more BrainSuckers back to Urnian than what is locally available. He can stay here for another week, if he can get some more of them (then he will have to get back to Urnian in time for the annual Hat Parade). He will pay Cr. 5000 for each brainsucker he will get.Hunting BrainSuckers is difficult and dangerous, but some locals will not miss a chance like this. If the PCs are poor enough, they can see it as a chance to "get off this lousy planet"... First the PCs have to get a temporary licence to hunt the BrainSuckers. This will be difficult, and cost them Cr. 1000. The hunting authorities will not let them hunt without a licence, and they will try to stop any illegal hunting with deadly force if necessary... The PCs can try to catch BrainSuckers any way they want. The standard way is to go out into the jungle with a special helmet that emits heat waves in the same pattern as the BrainSuckers usual pray. The BrainSuckers will drop from the trees, trying to attack the helmets. Then it is easy to remove the BrainSucker from the helmet. (But don't remove your helmet to get it of, there might be another BrainSucker waiting in the tree above you...) The PCs can by a helmet for Cr. 1000. (Who will wear it?) A standard protection helmet costs Cr. 100. To find a brainsucker. Use animal encounters for jungle terrain. On a throw of exactly 11 a BrainSucker will drop from a tree. But there are also other dangerous animals in the jungle...

The Monster in the LakeIn the Local newspaper "Ronu Post" there is an article about a lost fishing boat in a nearby lake. Local fishermen interviewed in the article say that there was a big sea monster that took the boat. No one believes the fishermen, because there are only small fish and small mollusc like creatures in the lakes of Ronu.On the beaches of the lakes one might meet a Ronuian Crocodile that is an amphibian 6 legged long necked creature, that resembles a terran crocodile. This is the largest known creature found in the lakes, and it never grows larger than 8 metres. The Ronuian Crocodile is not known to attack boats. But be careful if you go swimming in the lakes... Since the PCs are offworlders, and not biased by local folklore, the authorities want the PCs to find out what actually happened to the boat.

Body GuardsThe PCs are hired as bodyguards by the Avalar Governor (Dame Vanja Nertsia). A political inspection team from the Avalar Capital will be arriving soon, and the governor wants to increase the security during their visit. She thinks that she cannot trust locals, that sometimes expresses pro-Kamrathi opinions.During the visit she will also upset the locals by increasing the local law level to 5. No anti-Avalar demonstration will be allowed during the visit. It will be the PCs job, together with some loyal local police forces to enforce this. The political inspection team will have their own bodyguards, and a handful of Avalar Marines (TL=13) will guard their ships and lives if there are some major incident... The inspection team will inspect the local situation, and also inspect the profitable BrainSucker trade.

Murder?A landowner is missing and later found in the jungle. He has been killed by a brainsucker. What was he doing in the jungle without a helmet? The local police has not the resources to investigate this further, so his mother hires the PCs as PIs. They will find lots of footsteps in the jungle. Some which are not from the people that found the body. Was he meeting someone? Was he already dead? You can use an episode of your favourite crime/action (TV) program as a base story. The motive is usually any of love, power, money, stupidity...
